Explore the Shifting Woods! - Version 0.3 is out!

Hello everyone!

Exactly a month ago we uploaded version 0.2 of the game, that contained the Crossroad Tavern, our hub place, and various fixes. Now we're happy to announce that version 0.3 has arrived introducing a brand new area: the Shifting Woods.

Shifting Woods

North of the Crossroad Tavern lies the Shifting Woods, a dark and bleak forest cursed with magic. Because of this the trees of the forest are ever-changing. Filled with unique archers and vicious spiders the woods are not for the faint-hearted. Discover the woods, learn a new pyromancy and defeat Wassa, it's queen.

What's new?

Apart from the obvious new area that's the main focus of the place there's been a lot of changes, including but not limited to the following:

  • Lighting a bonfire now removes mana, but killing the area boss gives back the same amount.
  • Releasing the RMB after blocking will keep the block spell active for 3 seconds but removes the slowdown penalty.
  • Melee enemies now have an attack angle that they can hit in.
  • The old lighting system is back!
  • Alex Gobbett joined our forces as a musician and SFX artist, therefore we have a lot of new effects for the player, as well as music for the first boss fight.
  • Under-the-hood code restructure for better performance.
  • A ton of bug fixes.

What's next?

The game is finally getting into proper shape, so expect a Steam page soon and a proper announcement trailer. Gameplay-wise the next area on the list is the Forsaken Village, a town that succumbed to the evil magic of King Gawain's archmage.
